The Fuelling Athlete and Coaching Excellence (FACE)™ program focuses on providing equal funding to pre-carded national Olympic and Paralympic athletes and their coaches.
FACE™ helps to provide the athlete and their coach with the resources necessary to close the gap and achieve national carded status for the athlete in the short-term, and improve coaching skills over the long-term.
In cooperation with our partners, the FACE™ program identifies 50 athlete and coach pairings to provide funding grants for each athlete and coach team. All Olympic and Paralympic sports are eligible for FACE™ funding and follow the Sport Canada review process to qualify.

Athletes and coaches are not required to submit their application. National Sport Organizations (NSO) will select and nominate candidates across Canada who will best benefit from the funding. The Canadian Olympic and Paralympic committees work with NSOs and the Coaching Association of Canada to select the final grant recipients.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your most generous funding grant. This money will be used to help pay for my training fees and will allow me to compete in meets that I would not otherwise be able to afford. I have already had to decline an invitation to compete in a Netherlands competition later this year because of financial difficulties and this money will definitely help prevent this from happening in the future.
Thank you very much again and I look forward to a "great competitive year!" |
